Angel Girl

The world is a speeding train,
A whizzing bullet of time,
Everyone running, nobody thinking,
And one small Angel Girl left behind.

Every movement she observes, Through eyes one of a kind,
Pain Angel Girl wants to forget,
Keeps burning her eyes blind.

She watches humanity race,
A folly of all time,
Man killing his best friend,
To be the first in line.

A trillion souls at left,
Only Angel Girl stands right,
Steels her back, tightened lips,
Every day is a fight.

She huffs to catch them up,
She fails, she’s confined,
To not a bed nor chair,
It’s Angel Girl in her mind.

Her pure face peers between the bars,
In her fist the key’s clenched tight,
She craves to be free again,
Under a tidal wave of fright.

Her exhausted heart’s on fire,
She yearns for the day in time,
When her true match will come and they will navigate,
One step at a time.

For Angel Girl’s no speeding train,
Or bullet whizzing by,
Angel Girl is nature’s bride,
She is destined to fly.

She leans to pluck the roses,
But now she will not cry,
As they leer from their hollow world,
Angel Girl has a smile in her eyes.

She straightens her white dress,
Settles with a patient sigh,
Ignores the shadows teasing her face,
As she closes her universe-her eyes.

So sleep well Angel Girl,
May your gilt dreams never die,
For Angel Girl’s no speeding train,
Or bullet whizzing by.
